happy turkey day, a great day to trot...

...to the gym that is!

Yeah!  So in less than 30 minutes, it will officially be Thanksgiving.  For those of us who have been super duper kicking ass in the gym...set your pace, know the enemy!  Still in control.  Yes.  Still in control.  Does that mean you won't get to indulge?  No.  It's simply a reminder that you are a portion controlled liberal.  You eat what you want and yet you lose weight.  You lose weight because you've modified the diet in preparation of foods and not after they hit the table.

I wanted fried turkey this year.  So guess what?  I seasoned it in spices and whole wheat flour.  Dropped it in fat for 20 minutes and slow roasted it in the oven at 250 degrees for over 3 hours.  It's fierce!  My sister made dressing with the ceremonial roasted turkey...and she used whole wheat bread!  Now if you've noticed I'm speaking in the present, where Thanksgiving hasn't yet arrived.  That's because I've been eating and enjoying the meal for two days.  Why?  So that I don't over indulge on the Big Day...DUH!  The reason we over eat on holidays is because we want to get in every frigging morsel.  I began yesterday, and by Friday I will be dead tired and not over fed.

I plan to stay on my fitness routine and hit the gym in the morning for an early bird workout...around 8!  And then come home for my power shake.  Other than salad...I plan to taste every thing for the ceremonial round, as I call my mom and wish her a blessed day (she'll be eating from her care packaged delivered this evening). Yes...with the Tablespoon and thumb to measure my goods!

It's just one day.  So don't punish yourself by overeating or starving yourself during the day, binging during the night once the final guest leaves.  Love yourself.  Love your body.  And by all means Happy Turkey Day!
